Error message when you try to create an opportunity from a contact in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0: "The record you are requesting is currently unavailable"
The hotfix that is discussed in this article is not available for the Chinese version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM or for the Japanese version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
You create a mapping between the Opportunity entity and the Contact entity in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0. When you try to create an opportunity from a contact, the opportunity is not created. Additionally, you receive the following error message:
[Record Is Unavailable]
The record you are requesting is currently unavailable. Either the record was not found or you do not have sufficient security permissions to view it.
If the
DevErrors parameter is enabled, the following error is logged in the Web.config file:
[COMException (0x80040217):
Description: The specified object was not found.
Details: The Account item with ID {D0F3B2FA-690B-DB11-A3C9-0003FF843EB9} does not exist.]

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
