You do not receive the confirmation page when you submit a form in FrontPage 2002 and in FrontPage 2003

SYMPTOMS

When you submit a form in one of the following programs, you may not receive the confirmation page:
  • Microsoft FrontPage 2002
  • /Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003
Additionally, you receive an error message that resembles the following one:
FrontPage Component Error

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the confirmation page includes a form.

Note The form is used to save results.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, use one of the following methods:
  • Remove the form from the confirmation page completely. Then, make the confirmation page a simple HTML Web page.
  • Enable the Send to other option in the confirmation page, and then configure a form handler.
Note You cannot enable the Send to database option in the confirmation page. If you enabled the Send to database option, the confirmation page is converted to an Active Server Pages (ASP) Web page.

If the confirmation page is converted to an ASP Web page, you will receive an error message that is different than the error message that is mentioned in the "Symptoms" section when you submit a form.

APPLIES TO
  • Microsoft FrontPage 2002 Standard Edition
  • Microsoft Office FrontPage 2003
