Error message when you try to enter a server URL in InfoPath 2007: "An error occurred while verifying the form template"
Consider the following scenario. You want to verify the compatibility of a form on a server in Microsoft Office InfoPath 2007. To do this, you must enter the server URL in InfoPath 2007. When you enter the server URL, you receive the following error message:
An error occurred while verifying the form template.
When you click
Show Details, you receive the following error message:
The SOAP message cannot be parsed.
This issue occurs when the following conditions are true:
- You add a default page to the URL. For example, you may add a http://servername/site/default.aspx default page.
- The URL includes only the server name, or the URL includes only the server name and the site name.
This behavior is by design.

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
