No items are returned in the search results in SharePoint Server 2007 when you run a query that contains a URL property restriction that includes a port number
Consider the following scenario. You use the Advanced Search feature in Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 to search for items that contain a URL. To do this, you run a query that contains a URL property restriction. The URL property restriction includes a port number. In this scenario, no items are returned in the search results.
However, if the query includes only the URL and does not include the port number, items are returned in the search results as expected.
For example, if you search by using the following query, no items are returned in the search results:
https://DomainName.com:42709
However, if you search by using the following query, items are returned in the search results as expected:
https://DomainName.com
This issue occurs if the port number does not match the zone in which the site was crawled. A query that uses a URL property restriction relies on the canonical form of the URL. Therefore, a query that contains a URL property restriction that includes a port number does not work if the URL is used in a different zone.
To work around this issue, use one of the following procedures:
- Do not specify the port number in the URL when you run a query that contains a URL property restriction.
- Search by using the URL that is configured in the content source.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
