You receive a message when you try to start a 2007 Office program: "Your beta software has expired"

SYMPTOMS

When you try to start a 2007 Microsoft Office program, you receive the following message:
Your beta software has expired. Use Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel to remove the beta software from your computer.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs because the Beta 2 version of the 2007 Office program has expired. The Beta 2 version of the 2007 Office programs expire on the following dates:
  • 2007 Microsoft Office Beta 2: February 1, 2007
  • 2007 Microsoft Office Beta 2 Technical Refresh: March 31, 2007

RESOLUTION

  1. Remove the Beta 2 version of the 2007 Office program from your computer. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then click Add or Remove Programs.
    2. In the Currently installed programs list, click the Beta 2 version of the 2007 Office program that is installed on the computer, and then click Remove.
