Error message when you try to export an Access 2007 table that contains more than 65,000 rows to an Excel workbook: "You selected more records than can be copied"
Consider the following scenario. You try to export a Microsoft Office Access 2007 database table that contains more than 65,000 rows to a Microsoft Office Excel 2007 workbook (.xlsx) or to an Excel 2007 binary workbook (.xlsb). You click
Export data with formatting and layout.
When you try to start the export, you receive the following error message:
You selected more records than can be copied onto the Clipboard at one time.
Divide the records into two or more groups, and then copy and paste one group at a time.
The maximum number of records you can paste at one time is approximately 65,000.
This problem occurs because you cannot export a table that contains more than 65,000 rows by using the
Export data with formatting and layout option.
To work around this problem, do not click
Export data with formatting and layout when you export a table that contains more than 65,000 rows.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
