SYMPTOMS

When you run the Synchronize Outlook with CRM function in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM desktop client for Microsoft Office Outlook, you receive the following error message:
The logged-on user does not have the appropriate security permissions to view these records or perform the specific action. For more information contact your system administrator.
Or, the following error is logged in the Application event log on the client computer:

Event Source: MSCRMAddressBook
Event Category: None
Event ID: 6408

This problem occurs if you have a security role that does not contain the Go Offline permission.

Note To run the Synchronize Outlook with CRM function, you must have a security role that contains the "Sync to Outlook" permission.
