SYMPTOMS

When you use the host print service in Microsoft Host Integration Server 2006, in Microsoft Host Integration Server 2004, or in Host Integration Server 2000 to run a multiple-page AS/400 print job, the first line of the printed output is formatted incorrectly, starting with the second page of the print job. The first line of every page after the first page does not start to print from the correct position on the page.

For example, you format the second page of the AS/400 print job to resemble the following output:
This is the first line of the second page of the print job.
This is the second line of the second page of the print job.
In this example, you configure the first line on the second page of the print job to start to print at column 10. When you run this print job, the printed output resembles the following output:
This is the first line of the second page of the print job.
This is the second line of the second page of the print job.
In this example, the first line on the second page of the printed output incorrectly starts at column one.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because the SNA Print service (Snaprint.exe) does not process an Absolute Horizontal Move (AHM) command when that command follows a form feed. This problem causes the next print line to start at print position 1 (column 1) instead of the print position that is specified in the AHM command.

RESOLUTION

Host Integration Server 2000
