A crawl does not make any progress and the crawl logs show no new crawled documents in SharePoint Server 2007
When Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 is crawling content, you experience the following symptoms:
This problem occurs because there is insufficient disk space.
To resolve this problem, perform one of the following actions:
- Reset the index.
- Free some disk space. To do this, delete unnecessary content, or add another hard disk.
- Use the Stsadm.exe command-line tool to move the catalog. To do this, use one of the following methods, depending on your scenario:
Method 1: The index server is out of disk space
Each index server can be the indexer for many Shared Services Providers (SSPs).
You can move the indexes for each SSP by typing the following command at the command prompt:
stsadm.exe -o editssp -title SSP Name –indexlocationindex file path
Method 2: One of the query servers is out of disk space
You can move the single index location by typing the following command at the command prompt:
stsadm.exe –o osearch –propagationlocation index file path

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
