SYMPTOMS

You install Microsoft Antigen 9.0 for Exchange or Microsoft Antigen 9.0 for SMTP Gateways on a node in a server cluster. When you do this, the Microsoft Exchange Information Store resource unexpectedly fails over.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if the Scanjobs.adb file contains more than 16 scan jobs. When this occurs, the Scanjobs.adb file is full. The Scanjobs.adb file can become full if either of the following conditions is true:
  • A virtual server fails over to a different cluster node, and all the scan jobs for that virtual server are created in the Scanjobs.adb file.
  • You use and then delete recovery storage groups in Microsoft Exchange Server 2003. In this scenario, additional scan jobs are created in the Scanjobs.adb file.

RESOLUTION

Note The "Hotfix download available" form displays the languages for which the hotfix is available. If you do not see your language, it is because a hotfix is not available for that language.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.

MORE INFORMATION

You must configure template settings for scan jobs. This hotfix clears the scan jobs in the Scanjobs.adb file that are not associated with that particular virtual server. Scan jobs are re-created during the next failover.
