The installation state of a shared Office component in an installed 2007 Office program is not reflected in the Setup program of a second installed 2007 Office program

SYMPTOMS

You perform a custom installation of a 2007 Microsoft Office program. In the Setup program, you make a change to the shared Office components of this 2007 Office program and then complete the installation. Then, you perform a custom installation of a second 2007 Office program, such as Microsoft Office OneNote 2007. You then view the shared Office components in the Setup program of the second installed program. In this scenario, the change that you made in the installation state in the 2007 Office program Setup program is not reflected in the Setup program for OneNote 2007.

Note These symptoms may occur in the Setup program when you have installations of multiple 2007 Office programs on the same computer

MORE INFORMATION

You install two 2007 Office programs. You set the Run from My Computer setting for a shared Office component in the Setup program when you install the first 2007 Office program. If you set the Not Available setting for the same component in the Setup program when you install the second 2007 Office program, the component is not removed during the installation process for the second installed 2007 Office program.

You set the Not Available setting for a shared Office component in the Setup program when you install the first 2007 Office program. If you set the Run from My Computer setting for the same component in the Setup program when you install the second 2007 Office program, the component is installed during the installation process for the second installed 2007 Office program.
