The status bar displays a flashing message or displays alternate messages when you apply a filter to a subreport in Access 2007: "Calculating," "Ready," or another status
When you apply a filter to a subreport in Microsoft Office Access 2007, you may experience the following symptoms:
- The status bar in Access 2007 displays the following flashing message:
Calculate
- The status bar indicates that the status of Access 2007 continually changes. For example, the status bar alternately displays messages such as the following:
Message 1Ready
Message 2Calculating
- Data that is contained in the report alternates between being visible and not being visible.
- Data that is contained in the report alternates between #Name and the actual cell value.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
Steps to reproduce the problem
- Open a database in Access 2007.
- Open a subreport in layout mode.
- Click a cell, and then apply a filter.
APPLIES TO

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
