You are prompted to upgrade or customize an earlier version of Office when you try to install a 2007 Office suite or program
Consider the following scenario. You try to install a 2007 Microsoft Office suite or a 2007 Office program on a computer. This computer does not have an earlier version of a Microsoft Office suite or program already installed. In this scenario, you may be prompted to click
Upgrade or to click
Customize even though you do not have an earlier version of a Office suite or program already installed.
Note If you click
Customize, you are prompted to click one of the following options:
- Remove previous versions of Microsoft Office OneNote.
- Keep all previous versions.
Regardless of the option or options that you select, if you continue and complete the installation, the 2007 Office suite or program is installed successfully.
This issue occurs if you have Microsoft Office OneNote 2003 installed. This issue does not prevent the installation of the 2007 Office suite or program.
Note If you click Upgrade, OneNote 2003 is not removed.

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
