E-mail attachments have incorrect content type declarations when you send an e-mail message to an external address in Microsoft Dynamics CRM
When you send an e-mail message from a Microsoft Dynamics CRM Web 3.0 client to an external address, the e-mail attachments have incorrect content type declarations. For example, the content type of a .pdf attachment is "pdf/application" instead of "application/pdf."
And, the content type of a Microsoft Word attachment is "ms-word/application" instead of "application/ms-word."
When this behavior occurs, you may experience one of the following symptoms:
- Some antivirus scanners remove the attachments.
- Some e-mail gateways check the content of the attachments against the incorrect Multipurpose Internet Mail Extension (MIME) type. Then, the gateways block attachments that do not correspond to Request for Comments (RFC) standards.
This problem is fixed in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 3.0 Update Rollup 2. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
