The Search text box continues to appear in an Access 2007 database after you click to clear the "Show Search Bar" check box

SYMPTOMS

After you click to clear the Show Search Bar check box, the Search text box continues to appear in the Navigation Pane of a Microsoft Office Access 2007-based database.

Note The Show Search Bar check box is located under Display Options in the Navigation Options dialog box.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs if the read-only attribute is set in the database file.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, make sure that the read-only attribute is not set in the database file.

Note To view the file attributes, right-click the file, and then click Properties.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
