Error message when you specify a server for a SharePoint site in Project Portfolio Server 2007: "SharePoint Server URL must begin with 'http://' or 'https://' and have a valid host"
In Microsoft Office Project Portfolio Server 2007, when you specify a server for a Microsoft
SharePoint site, you receive the following error
message:
SharePoint Server URL must begin with "http:/"
or "https:/" and have a valid host
To work around this behavior, add a slash mark (/) to the end of the URL when
you type
the URL
of the server. For example, type
http://www.server_name.com/.
This
behavior is by design.
Steps to reproduce the behavior
- Visit the SharePoint Server Definition page. This page is located at the following URL:
http://localhost/PortfolioServer/SharePoint/Admin/SharePointServerDefinition.aspx
- Click Add.
- Type
a URL for a SharePoint site server. For example, type
http://www.server_name.com
- Click Add.
APPLIES TO
- Microsoft Office Project Portfolio Server 2007
- Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
