You cannot synchronize PIM data between Windows Mobile devices and Windows Vista

SYMPTOMS

You cannot synchronize Personal Information Manager (PIM) data between a Windows Mobile device and Windows Vista.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because Windows Mobile Device Center must be installed on the computer before you synchronize PIM data between a Windows Mobile device and Windows Vista.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, you must install Windows Mobile Device Center. To download Windows Mobile Device Center, visit one of the following Microsoft Web sites:
