Additional Office content may not be installed successfully when you install a trial version of an Office program

SYMPTOMS

You install a trial version of one of the Microsoft Office programs that are listed in the "Applies to" section. You do this on a computer that does not have any non-trial version of a Microsoft Office XP program, a Microsoft Office 2003 program, or a 2007 Microsoft Office program installed.

When you try to install additional content for the Office program, the content is not installed successfully.

This behavior may occur when you try to install any of the following content:
  • 2007 Microsoft Office Add-in: Microsoft Save as PDF or XPS
  • 2007 Microsoft Office Add-in: Microsoft Save as PDF
  • 2007 Microsoft Office Add-in: Microsoft Save as XPS
Note To download this content, visit the following Microsoft Web sites:

CAUSE

This behavior is by design. To be a genuine Microsoft Office user, you must have at least one non-trial version of an Office XP program, an Office 2003 program, or a 2007 Office program installed and validated by Office Genuine Advantage.

WORKAROUND

To work around this behavior, you must install a non-trial version of the Office XP program, the Office 2003 program, or the 2007 Office program. Then, install the additional 2007 Office content.
