Issue that the hotfix package fixes

This hotfix package fixes the following issue that was not previously documented in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

An Office 2003 program is started as an automated task or as a non-interactive user (service). When you try to start an Office 2003 program, the program does not start.

Additionally, you may experience one of the following symptoms:
  • You receive the following error message:
    There is not enough memory or disk space to run program.
  • If the program does start, it starts briefly and then closes unexpectedly. You do not receive an error message when the program closes.
This issue may occur after an update that contains security update 923727 is installed. This security update is for Office 2003, and is dated October 10, 2006.
