Error message when you use SoftGrid Client Management to try to update a Desktop Configuration Server: "Error code: <xxxxxx-xxxxxx>0A-80038003"

SYMPTOMS

When you use SoftGrid Client Management to try to update a Desktop Configuration Server, you receive the following error message:
The SoftGrid Client failed to download MIME information from ServerName.
The SoftGrid Client detected a socket-related error. Please try again in a few minutes. If the problem persists, please report the following error code to your System Administrator.
Error code: xxxxxx-xxxxxx0A-80038003

CAUSE

This problem may occur when the port is not valid. Or, this problem may occur because the SoftGrid Client cannot communicate with the port.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, make sure that you specify a valid port on the Servers tab of the SoftGrid Client. Also, make sure that the SoftGrid Client can communicate with the port. You can use a Telnet client to test the port.

If the value in the Type box is SoftGrid Virtual Application Server, make sure that the SoftGrid Virtual Application Server service is started. If the value in the Type box is Standard HTTP Server, make sure that the Web server is listening. If the value in the Type box is Standard UDDI Server, make sure that the UDDI server is listening on the correct port.
