Changes to an Office Open XML Formats file are not saved when you click a hyperlink to open the file
Consider the following scenario:
- You install Microsoft Office 2000 or Microsoft Office XP on a computer.
- You install the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 File Formats on the computer.
- You have a file that is
saved in an Office Open XML Formats file format.
- The file is hosted on a Web server.
- You open the file from somewhere other than the Web
server. For example, you click a hyperlink in an e-mail message to open the file. Alternatively, you click a hyperlink in another document to open the file.
After you edit and then save the file, you do not receive an error message. However, when you
click the hyperlink again to open the file, your edits are not
displayed.

the file to an incorrect location. Internet Explorer downloads the file to the
Temporary Internet Files folder. Any changes to the file are saved only to the file in the Temporary Internet Files folder. Changes to the file are not saved to the original file on the Web

Method 2

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
