The size of an inserted Excel chart object may change when you edit the chart object in Word 2007 or in PowerPoint 2007
When you edit a Microsoft Office Excel chart object in Microsoft
Office Word 2007 or in Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007, the size of the
inserted chart object may change.
This issue occurs in the following
scenarios.
Scenario 1
- You save a Word document or a PowerPoint presentation in
the 2007 Office system format.
- The Word document or the PowerPoint presentation contains a
chart object.
- You open the chart object,
and then you change the size of the chart object in Excel.
Scenario 2
- You insert a chart object into a Word document or into a
PowerPoint presentation that is saved in the file format that is used in Office 97 products, in Office 2000 products, in Office XP products, and in Office 2003 products.
- You open the file in Word 2007 or in PowerPoint
2007.
- You convert the chart object into the 2007 Office system
format.
- You change the size of the chart object in Excel.
This issue occurs because the size of a chart object that is
displayed in Excel is synchronized with the size of the chart object that is inserted
in the source file. If you change the size of the chart object in Excel, the size of
the chart object is also changed in the source file.
If you exit Excel after the size of the chart object has been changed, the size of the
chart object that was inserted in the source file may also change.
To work around this issue, follow these steps:
- Open the source file.
- Right-click the chart object, point to Chart
Object, and then click Open.
- In Excel, change the size of the chart object.
- Exit Excel.
- Verify the size of the chart object in the source file.
- Repeat step 1 through step 5 if the size of the chart object in
the source file is incorrect.
APPLIES TO
- Microsoft Office Word 2007
- Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007
