Error message when you try to import a PayPal Payments file in Microsoft Office Accounting Professional or in Microsoft Office Accounting Express: "There are no transactions in the log file which can be saved into Microsoft Office Accounting"

SYMPTOMS

When you try to import a PayPal Payments file in Microsoft Office Accounting Professional or in Microsoft Office Accounting Express, you receive the following error message:

There are no transactions in the log file which can be saved into Microsoft Office Accounting.
Please select another file.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because you can only import payments from PayPal to Accounting Professional or to Accounting Express if the customer clicked the customized PayPal button. The customized PayPal button is located on the invoice that was e-mailed to the customer from Accounting Professional or from Accounting Express.

RESOLUTION

To import PayPal payments from a customer, you must e-mail the customer their invoice with a customized PayPal button. Then, the customer must click the customized PayPal button within the invoice to be sent to the PayPal Web site. When the customer is in the PayPal Web site, they can make their payment.

For more information about how to set up an invoice with a customized PayPal button, see the topic "Select a PayPal Payments button image to use in e-mail invoices" in Accounting Professional Help or in Accounting Express Help.

MORE INFORMATION

PayPal is a popular Web-based payment method that is used by consumers and small businesses. When you install and enable the PayPal Payments add-in, you can add a customized PayPal button for your e-mailed invoices and for your invoice templates.

Additionally, you can receive payments through PayPal. You can apply those payments to invoices in Accounting Professional and in Accounting Express.
