Windows Mail does not download newsgroup messages in some language versions of Windows Vista
You use Windows Mail to download newsgroup messages. However, if you use certain date and time formats in some language versions of Windows Vista, Windows Mail does not download the associated metadata that is used to rate newsgroup messages and to vote on newsgroup messages.
For example, this issue may occur if you use an English version of Windows Vista that is configured to use a Japanese date and time format or a Traditional Chinese date and time format.
Note This issue will not prevent you from reading newsgroup messages. This issue prevents you from using the feature that enables you to rate newsgroup messages and to vote on newsgroup messages. Additionally, you cannot see the details of the people who post to newsgroups.
This issue occurs if you use a date and time format that differs from the language version of Windows Vista.
To work around this issue, change the current user locale to
English (United States). To do this, follow these steps:
- Click Start

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
