SYMPTOMS

When you import data from Microsoft Money into Microsoft Office Accounting Professional or into Microsoft Office Accounting Express, you receive the following error messages.
Error message 1
The financial date of a document must be within an existing open fiscal year.
Note Error message 1 is in the Time Sheets section that is in the "SBA Money Migration_MM_DD_YYYY_HH MM SS.html" file.
Error message 2
A Document must contain at least one line.
Note Error message 2 is in the Invoices section that is in the "SBA Money Migration_MM_DD_YYYY_HH MM SS.html" file.

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the following conditions are true:
  • You import the invoices that are linked to the time items.
  • There is no invoice that is linked to a time item for the current tax year.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, create an invoice for the current tax year. The invoice should be linked to a time item in the same year. Then, import the data into Accounting Professional or into Accounting Express.

To create the invoice in Microsoft Money, follow these steps:
  1. Click Business, click Go to Business lists, and then click Time Items.
  2. Click New.
  3. In the Customer name list, click a customer.

    Note If no customer exists, create a customer.
  4. In the Service name list, click a service.

    Note If no service exists, create a service.
  5. In the Number of Hours field, type the duration.
  6. In the Start Date box, enter a date, enter a date in the End Date box, and then click Done.
  7. Click Business, and then click New Invoice.
  8. In the Customer list, click the customer who you selected in step 3.
  9. Click Add Time/Expenses, and then click Add Time Item to this Invoice.
  10. In the Include Time Items dialog box, click to select the check box for the time item that you created in steps 2 through 5, and then click OK.
  11. Make sure that the date in the Invoice Date box is for the current tax year, and then click Save and Done.
  12. On the File menu, click Close.
