Error message when you try to build an OLAP cube on the Project Server 2003 server that is running SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services: "Errors in the OLAP storage engine: The attribute key cannot be found"
When you try to build an Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) cube on the Microsoft Office Project Server 2003 server that is running Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services, you receive the following error message:
(-2146233088) Errors in the OLAP storage engine: The attribute key cannot be found: Table: MSP_CUBE_RES_AVAIL_FACT, Column: RES_ENTRUID, Value: 9. Errors in the OLAP storage engine: The process operation ended because the number of errors encountered.
This problem may occur on some databases when the OLE DB provider publishes orphan records. The orphan records appear in the MSP_VIEW_RES_TP_BY_DAY table and in the MSP_Cube table.
To resolve this problem, install the hotfix that this article mentions on the server that is running Project Server 2003. Also, delete all the data that is in the MSP_VIEW_RES_TP_BY_DAY table and then update the resource availability tables by using the "Update resource tables and OLAP cube" page in Microsoft Office Project Web Access.
