Error message when you click Reply in a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 discussion board in Subject view: "The page cannot be found"
You click
Modify View on a discussion board in a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 site. Then, you add a
Reply column under
Columns. When you visit the discussion board in
Subject view, you receive the following error message if you click
Reply to reply to a discussion topic:
This behavior occurs because Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 does not support the
Reply feature in
Subject view.
To work around this behavior, open the discussion topic in
Flat view or in
Threaded view. Then, click
Reply to reply to the topic.
Note By default, the discussion topic opens in
Flat view when you click the discussion topic.
Steps to reproduce the problem
- Open a discussion board in a Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 site.
- Click the list next to View, and then click Modify View.
- Locate the Views section, and then click Columns.
- Click the Reply column check box, and then click OK two times.
- On the discussion board, select a topic
in Subject view, and then click Reply.
