How to upgrade the 180-day evaluation version of System Center Operations Manager 2007 to the full product version
You can upgrade the 180-day licensed evaluation version of Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007 to the full product version without having to uninstall the evaluation version and then having to reinstall the fully licensed version. The following three upgrade options are available based on the evaluation version that is currently installed:
- Operations Manager 2007 Evaluation version (original release version) Build 6.0.5000.0000
- Operations Manager 2007 Service Pack 1 Release Candidate (RC) Evaluation version Build 6.0.6246.0000
- Operations Manager 2007 Service Pack 1 Release (RTM) Evaluation version Build 6.0.6278.0000
To upgrade the evaluation version of Operations Manager 2007 (original release version), you must use the LicensingWizard tool. However, to upgrade the evaluation version of Operations Manager 2007 SP1 RC, you do not have to use the LicensingWizard tool. To upgrade Operations Manager 2007 SP1 RC, use the SetupOM.exe file from the Select CD image. For more information, see the appropriate licensing upgrade option in the "More Information" section.
To upgrade the evaluation version of Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007 to the full product version, use one of the following options based on the evaluation version that is currently installed.
Option 1: Operations Manager 2007 Evaluation version (without service pack) Build 6.0.5000.0000

Note The system_architecture placeholder represents the architecture of the computer that you are using. For example, this placeholder should be i386 on an x86-based computer. - Run the LicensingWizard.msi file on the Root Management Server (RMS), and then follow the instructions in the Licensing Wizard. You only have to run the LicensingWizard.msi file one time per management group.
Note After the license has been upgraded to the full product version, you can install Service Pack 1 by using the SP1Upgrade.exe file which is included with the SP1 Upgrade package. To download this package, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
Option 2: Operations Manager 2007 Service Pack 1 Release Candidate (RC) Evaluation version Build 6.0.6246.0000
Note Service Pack 1 no longer uses or contains the LicensingWizard tool to apply licenses. To apply licenses, use the SetupOM.exe file.
