Error Message if you use the Accountant View feature to receive a client's books in Accounting Professional or in Accounting Express: "Import Version mismatch"

SYMPTOMS

If you use the Accountant View feature to receive a client's books in Microsoft Office Accounting Professional or in Microsoft Office Accounting Express, you receive the following error message:
Import Version mismatch.

CAUSE

This problem occurs because there is a variation in the service pack levels for Accounting Professional or for Accounting Express on different computers. The service pack level on the computer that you use to receive the client's books differs from the service pack level on the computer that is used to send the client's books.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, make sure that both computers have the same service pack applied. We recommend that you update both computers to the latest service pack for Accounting Professional or for Accounting Express before you try to transfer the client's books.

To do this, follow these steps on each computer:
  1. Start Microsoft Office Accounting Professional, Microsoft Office Accounting Express, or Accountant View.
  2. On the Help menu, click Check for Updates.
  3. Apply the latest service pack for the appropriate program to the computer.
Note If the client's books are sent from a computer that does not have the latest service pack applied, the client's books must be resent after you apply the latest service pack.
