Generic enterprise resources are missing when you view the reporting database table in a Project Server 2007 project

On This Page

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. You add both standard and generic enterprise resources to a Microsoft Office Project Server 2007 project. You use a reporting database to track the time that the resources are available and their capacity. However, when you view the reporting database table, only the standard enterprise resources are present in the table. The generic enterprise resources are missing.

RESOLUTION

A hotfix package is available to resolve this problem for new generic enterprise resources. This hotfix package will not automatically fix generic enterprise resources in an existing project.

To fix generic enterprise resources in an existing project after you apply this hotfix package, use one of the following methods:
  • Create a new standard enterprise work resource, or create a new generic enterprise work resource.
  • Make a resource calendar change for the standard enterprise work resource or for the generic enterprise work resource.
  • Make a base calendar change that affects the standard enterprise work resource or the generic enterprise work resource.
  • Run the Reporting Resource Capacity job.
  • Use the Resource Center to change the generic enterprise work resources "Resource Availability" table, and then save the resource.

How to obtain the hotfix

This issue is fixed in the Project Server 2007 Hotfix Package that is dated June 16, 2007. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
