Error message when you use the BTSDeploy tool (Btsdeploy.exe) to deploy an assembly in BizTalk Server: "Failed to update binding information"

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft BizTalk Server, you may receive an error message that resembles the following when you use the BTSDeploy tool (Btsdeploy.exe) to deploy an assembly:
Failed to update binding information. (mscorlib)

Additional Information: Communication with the underlying transaction manager has failed. (System.Transactions)
This issue may occur if the assembly contains binding information.

CAUSE

This issue may occur because of a problem in Microsoft Distributed Transaction Coordinator.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, use one of the following methods.

Method 1: Install Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 2

Method 2: Install the security update that is described in security bulletin MS06-018

WORKAROUND

You may be able to work around this issue if you deploy the assembly and the binding information separately.
