This article describes the upgrade licensing process for
Microsoft Antigen 9.0.
Scenario 1: Upgrading from Antigen 8.0 build 1517 to Antigen 9.0
When you upgrade from Sybari Antigen 8.0 to Antigen 9.0, follow
these steps:
- Purchase Antigen 9.0 at the Microsoft
Volume Licensing Web site. Or, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
- Download Antigen 9.0 from Microsoft Volume Licensing Web
site.
- Run the Antigen 9.0 Setup.exe file that is included in the
downloaded package to upgrade Antigen 8.0 to Antigen 9.0. Your settings from
the Antigen 8.0 installation are saved.
Notes - Only upgrades from Antigen 8.0 build 1517 to Antigen 9.0
are supported. If you are running a build that is earlier than Antigen 8.0
build 1517, you must update to Antigen 8.0 build 1517 before you upgrade to
Antigen 9.0.
- The Antigen 9.0 installation package includes the license
file. If you want to install Antigen 9.0, download the Antigen 9.0 installation
package, and then run the Setup.exe file. The conditions for installing Antigen
9.0 differ from earlier installations of Antigen. These earlier installations
of Antigen required a separate download of a License.cfg file and additional
installation steps.
Scenario 2: Upgrading from a trial version or an evaluation version of Antigen 9.0 to a fully licensed version
Note In this scenario, it is assumed that a trial version or
an evaluation version of Antigen 9.0 is installed on the server.
When you upgrade from a trial version or an evaluation version of
Antigen 9.0 to a fully licensed version, follow these steps:
- Use your logon credentials to download the licensed copy of
Antigen 9.0 from the Microsoft Volume Licensing Web site.
If you do not know your logon credentials, visit the following Microsoft Web
site:Or, send an e-mail message to the following e-mail address for
help:
- Run the Setup.exe file.
The
installation will recognize the existing trial installation and prompts you to use the new fully licensed license file. When you choose to use the new licensed license file, only the new license file is installed. A full reinstallation of Antigen 9.0
is not performed. Additionally,
the
previous configuration settings are saved.
Scenario 3: Upgrading from a fully licensed version of Antigen 9.0 RTM to a fully licensed version Antigen 9.0 Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Antigen 9.0 Service Pack 2 (SP2)
Note In this scenario, it is assumed that a licensed version of Antigen 9.0 is installed on the server.
When you upgrade from a fully licensed version of Antigen 9.0 RTM to a fully licensed version Antigen 9.0 SP1 or Antigen 9.0 SP2, follow these steps:
- Use your logon credentials to download the licensed copy of Antigen 9.0 SP1 or Antigen 9.0 SP2 from the Microsoft Volume Licensing Web site. If you do not know your logon credentials, visit the following Microsoft Web site: Or, send an e-mail message to the following e-mail address for help:
- Run the Setup.exe file.
The installation will recognize the existing licensed installation and prompts you to keep the existing file or use the new one. Select the option to keep the existing license file. A full reinstallation of Antigen 9.0 is not performed. Additionally, the previous configuration settings are saved.
