Error message when you import a Microsoft Money file into Accounting Professional or into Accounting Express "Authentication failed"
When you try to import a Microsoft Money file into Microsoft Office Accounting Professional or into Microsoft Office Accounting Express, you receive the following error message:
Note The Microsoft Money file is a .mny file.
This problem occurs because you typed an incorrect password when you tried to import the Microsoft Money file.
To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
- In the Start-Microsoft Office Accounting page, click Import data from Microsoft Money.
- Click Browse, and then locate the Microsoft Money file that you want to import.
- Sign in by using your original Windows Live ID credentials.
Note If you have problems signing in online, you can select the option to sign
in to Money in "offline" mode. - On the File menu, click Password Manager.
- Remove the existing Windows Live ID. Follow the steps that appear on the screen.
If you want to remove the data on the MSN Money servers that is linked to this old
Windows Live ID, select the option to do so.
