If an application uses the
AxHost class to host ActiveX controls in the Winforms.dll file, the
Terminate events of the ActiveX controls do not occur immediately.
When the
Terminate events do not occur, a leak occurs in unmanaged resources, such
as Graphics Device Interface (GDI) objects. When this issue occurs, the
application crashes or throws exceptions.
This issue occurs because the
Axhost class in the .NET Framework 1.1 does not release the COM object
correctly.
