The ShapeRange.Shadow.Type property incorrectly returns a value of -2 for all shadow types when you try to programmatically obtain the shadow type of a shape in PowerPoint 2007

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario. In Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2007, you insert a shape in a slide. Then, you apply a preset shadow effect for the shape. In the Visual Basic Editor, you try to programmatically obtain the shadow type of the shape by using the ShapeRange.Shadow.Type property. In this scenario, the ShapeRange.Shadow.Type property incorrectly returns a value of -2 for all shadow types.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, apply the 2007 Microsoft Office hotfix package that is dated February 14, 2008. For more information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
