An error message may be logged in the STSADM export log file after you install Forefront Security for SharePoint on a computer that is running Windows SharePoint Services 3.0: "Access Denied"
You install Microsoft Forefront Security for SharePoint on a computer that is running Microsoft Windows SharePoint Services 3.0. Then, you run the STSADM export operation (The export operation is
stsadm -o export.) to export the site data and the subsite data for Windows SharePoint Services 3.0. In this scenario, the STSADM export log may contain the following error message:
This problem occurs when Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 uses the System account instead of the Network Service account to initiate the Forefront Security for SharePoint scanning process. In this case, Forefront Security for SharePoint does not have the required access permissions to scan files that the STSADM export operation processes.
To resolve this issue, you must install the Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 hotfix package that is dated May 8, 2007.
