Issues that were not previously documented in the Microsoft Knowledge Base
The 2007 Microsoft Office suites Service Pack 1 (SP1) also fixes
the following PowerPoint 2007 issues that were not previously documented in the
Microsoft Knowledge Base.
When you start a slide show, a delay occursThis issue also occurs when you exit the slide show. The delay may increase depending on the number of applications that you have open and on the number of times you start and exit the slide show.
Animations are reset if you change non-animated text during a slide showIf you change the non-animated text on a slide during a
slide show in PowerPoint 2007, the animations on the slide are reset.
Slide numbers are not recognized for presentations if the slide number fields are in a grouped shape on a slide masterWhen a slide number field is in the text that is in a
grouped shape on a slide master, this slide number field is not recognized on
the slides.
The Selection.TextRange method fails if the selected shape or the selected text is located on a SmartArt shape or on a grouped shapeWhen you automate a SmartArt object and then try to
access the text range in PowerPoint 2007, you receive the following error
message:
ActiveWindow.Selection.TextRange.Text
However, when you run the following macro on a selected range of
SmartArt text, you receive a result of "ppSelectionText (3)":
? ActiveWindow.Selection.Type
Error message when you use the Select method of the TextRange object: "Method 'Select' of object 'TextRange' failed"When you use the
ActiveWindow.Selection.TextRange.Select method to select a range programmatically in PowerPoint 2007, you
receive the following error message:
Run-time error
'-2147467259 (80004005)': Method 'Select' of object 'TextRange'
failed.
Error message when you update the SourceFullName property: "LinkFormat (unknown member): Failed"You have a macro that updates the paths to movie files
in your slides in PowerPoint 2007. When you reset the
SourceFullName property, you receive the following error message:
Microsoft Visual Basic
Run-time error '-2147467259
(80004005)'
LinkFormat (unknown member): Failed.

stops responding.
The Slide.Hyperlinks API does not work correctly with hyperlinked textA slide contains hyperlinked text. When you try to count
the number of links on the slides by using the Slide.Hyperlinks API, the value
is displayed as "0."
The ActiveWindow.Selection.TextRange.Replace method does not apply to all instancesWhen you perform a Find operation or a Replace
operation, the operation is not limited to the scope of the current text range.
Instead, the operation starts at the beginning of the text body and then covers
all the body text.
The Runs.Count method returns an incorrect value for text placeholdersWhen you try to count text placeholders on the slides in
PowerPoint 2007, an incorrect value is returned. This problem occurs if the
text formatting is different for the text placeholders.
The ActiveWindow.Selection.TextRange.Text method does not work in tablesWhen you select the text in a table cell, you cannot
access the selection by using the
ActiveWindow.Selection.TextRange.Text method of the object model (OM).
Bullets that were removed from the slide master reappear after you edit the slides and then save the slides in PowerPoint 2007Consider the following scenario:
- In Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003, you remove the bullets
from the body text placeholder of the existing slide master.
- You make some changes to the file. Then, you save the file
as a .ppt file.
- You open the .ppt file in PowerPoint 2007, save the file as
a .pptx file, and then reopen the file as a .pptx file.
- You save this .pptx file as a .ppt file.
- You reopen the newly saved .ppt file in PowerPoint
2003.
In this scenario, you may find that the bullets that you removed
reappear on the original slide master.
