The scan engines are not updated, and an event is logged in the Application log for Antigen: "Create EngineNew Folder Failed"
After a scheduled scan engine update for Sybari Antigen 8.0 for Microsoft Exchange, the scan engines are not updated. Additionally, the following event is logged in the Application log:
ERROR : Create EngineNew Folder Failed
The following error is logged in the Programlog.txt file:
ERROR : Cannot create EngineNew Folder
To resolve this issue, follow these steps:
-
Start Windows Explorer, and then double-click the Antigen for Exchange folder. By default, the "Antigen for Exchange" folder is in the following location:
C:\Program Files\Sybari Software\Antigen for Exchange
You will see folders for each search engine for which you are licensed. For example, you may see the following folders:
-
Double-click each folder that generates the error. You will see the following folders:
- engineEngine
- engineEngineNew
- engineEngineOld
- UpdateBin
-
Delete the
engineEngineOld folder.
-
Rename the
engineEngine
folder to the following name:
engineEngineOld
-
Rename the
engineEngineNew folder to the following name:
engineEngine
Note
If you cannot delete or rename the folders, stop the Antigen services to release any folders that are currently being used. You may also have to stop the Microsoft Exchange Server services.
- Start the Sybari Client (SybariClient.exe).
- In Shuttle Navigator, click Settings, and then click Scanner Updates.
- Click each search engine for which you renamed the folders, and then click Update Now.
- Monitor the next scheduled engine update to confirm that the scan engines are updated.
