We recommend that you change the garbage collector mode to "Server GC" when you install the .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 on a computer that is running Antigen 8.0 for IM

INTRODUCTION

If you use the Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 (SP1) together with Sybari Antigen 8.0 for IM running on a Microsoft Office Live Communications Server 2005-based computer, we recommend that you change the garbage collector mode to "Server GC."

MORE INFORMATION

The .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 has a new standard configuration setting that enables you to use the Workstation garbage collector (GC) mode. However, we recommend that you use the Server GC mode when you run Antigen 8.0 for IM on a Live Communications Server 2005-based computer.

Therefore, if you install the .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 on a computer that is running Antigen 8.0 for IM together with Live Communications Server 2005, we recommend that you change the garbage collector mode to Server GC. For information about how to do this, contact Microsoft Customer Support Services (CSS). For information about how to contact CSS, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

Note If you use the .NET Framework 1.1 and if you do not have the .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 installed, you do not have to change the garbage collector mode.
