Error message when you save an exported template in Accounting Professional or in Accounting Express: "Save failed"
Consider the following scenario in Microsoft Office Accounting Professional or in Microsoft Office Accounting Express.
You enable an accountant transfer. Then, you export a template. Next, you save the exported template. In this scenario, you receive the following error message:
This problem occurs because the accountant transfer is active.
To resolve this problem, use one of the following methods.
Method 1
Receive your books from your accountant, and then save the exported template. To do this, follow these steps:
- Start Accounting Professional or Accounting Express.
- On the File menu, point to Accountant Transfer, and then click Receive Books.
- Complete the steps in the wizard.
- On the File menu, point to Utilities, and then click Export as Template.
- In the File name field, type a file name, and then click Save.
Method 2
Cancel the accountant transfer, and then save the exported template. To do this, follow these steps:
- Start Accounting Professional or Accounting Express.
- On the File menu, point to Accountant Transfer, and then click Cancel Transfer.
- On the File menu, point to Utilities, and then click Export as Template.
- In the File name field, type a file name, and then click Save.
