Error message when you try to import company data from QuickBooks to Office Accounting: "Click the Retry button to retry setting your preferences"
When you try to import company data from Quickbooks to Microsoft Office Accounting, you receive the following error message:
Click the Retry button to retry setting your preferences. On the "Company Preference" tab, click "Microsoft Office Accounting", set your properties, and then close Quickbooks.
This problem may occur because the Quickbooks file that you try to grant access to is in a protected folder.
To resolve this problem, move the Quickbooks file to the desktop of the computer before you try to migrate the data. To do this, follow these steps:
- Locate where the Quickbooks information is saved.
Note The file will have an extension of .qbw.
- Right-click the Quickbooks file, and then click Cut.
- Paste the Quickbooks file on the desktop of the computer.
- Start Office Accounting.
- Click Import Data from Quickbooks.
- Click Next.
- Click Browse, and then select the Quickbooks file that you moved to the desktop in step 3.
- Click Open.
- Click Next.
- Complete the steps to grant access to the Quickbooks file.
- Click to select the I have completed the above steps check box.
- Click Next, and then follow the wizard to complete the Quickbooks migration.
