The Product Knowledge tab is empty when you open the properties for a rule in System Center Operations Manager 2007 Service Pack 1

SYMPTOMS

Consider the following scenario:
  • A sealed English management pack is installed on a localized version of Microsoft System Center Operations Manager 2007 Service Pack 1 (SP1).
  • A rule in this management pack contains English product knowledge.
  • You open the rule, and you add non-English company knowledge into this rule. Then, you save the rule into a new management pack.
  • You close the properties dialog box of the rule, and then you reopen it.
In this scenario, you expect the Product Knowledge tab to display the English product knowledge. However, the Product Knowledge tab is empty. Additionally, the Company Knowledge tab only displays the newly added information. If you delete the new management pack, the information in the Product Knowledge tab reappears.

Note This problem does not occur when you add company knowledge into a monitor.
