A send port that has the "Ordered delivery" option enabled and a backup transport configured stops sending messages in BizTalk Server 2006 or in BizTalk Server 2006 R2
Consider the following scenario:
- A computer is running Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 or Microsoft BizTalk Server 2006 R2.
- You create a send port.
- In Transport Advanced Options, you enable the Ordered delivery option on the send port.
- You configure a backup transport for this send port.
In this scenario, the send port stops sending messages when the following behavior occurs:
- The primary transport fails.
- The send port tries to use the backup transport.
This issue occurs even though the
Stop sending subsequent messages on current message failure option on the send port is enabled or disabled.
This issue occurs because BizTalk Server 2006 does not support configuring a backup transport for a send port that has the
Ordered delivery option enabled. Additionally, you cannot use Ordered Delivery together with dynamic send ports. When you create a dynamic send port, the
Ordered delivery option is unavailable.
This behavior is by design.

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
