Error message when you print a document in Accounting Professional or in Accounting Express: "The remote procedure call failed. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800706BE)"

SYMPTOMS

When you print a document in Microsoft Office Accounting Professional or in Microsoft Office Accounting Express, you receive the following error message:
The following error occurred: The remote procedure call failed. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800706BE)

CAUSE

This problem may occur because of a conflict with an add-in that is enabled in Microsoft Office Word 2007. For example, this problem may occur if ACT! by Sage Software is enabled in Word 2007.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
  1. Start Word 2007.
  2. Click the Microsoft Office Button

    , and then click Word Options.
  3. Click Add-Ins, click COM Add-ins in the Manage list, and then click Go.
  4. Click to clear the check box for the add-in that causes the problem. For example, click to clear the ACT! check box.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Exit Word 2007.

Thanks, this worked. I didn't have the act add in, so I disabled them all. It solved the issue. I will add them back in as the need arises and find the culprit that is causing the issue. Thanks for posting this on the web!
