Error message when you try to view a report in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0: "The report cannot be displayed"
When you try to view a report in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0, you receive the following error message:
Reporting Error:
The report cannot be displayed.
Additionally, the following error message is logged in the Application event log in the Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 server:
Exception type: CrmReportingException
Exception message: The item '/OrgName_MSCRM/4.0/{GUID}' cannot be found. (rsItemNotFound)
This problem occurs if the report exists on the computer that is running Microsoft Dynamics CRM. However, this computer disconnects from the computer that is running Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services.
To resolve this problem, publish all reports from the computer that is running Microsoft Dynamics CRM into the computer that is running Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services. To do this, follow these steps:
- Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.
- At a Command Prompt, change the directory to the following folder:
Drive:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics CRM\Tools
- Type the following command:
publishreports.exe Orgname
Note The Orgname placeholder represents the name of your organization for which you want to publish reports.
- Press Enter.

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
