Description of the reason for the replication delay that may occur when you call the DestroyCluster method in Windows Server 2008

INTRODUCTION

When you call the DestroyCluster method in Windows Server 2008, there may be a delay in replicating the process over the whole network. This article describes the reason for the replication delay.

MORE INFORMATION

When the DestroyCluster method is called in Windows Server 2008, the cluster object must be disabled or deleted over the network. This replication process takes time.

If you try to create a cluster by using the CreateCluster method immediately after you call the DestroyCluster method, the creation process may fail. This failure occurs because the object may still be enabled in one of the clusters.

Therefore, you must allow for some time to elapse after you call the DestroyCluster method before you use the CreateCluster method.
