The ContentOrphan rule in Pre-Upgrade Checker for Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Service Pack 2 (SP2) lists the names of content databases whose data is corrupted.
After you run Pre-Upgrade Checker, this rule lists the names
of content databases whose data is corrupted. This rule recommends that you use
the
Stsadm.exe command-line tool together with the
databaserepair operation to find more detailed information about the corrupted
data and to find ways to fix the data. The kinds of corruption include the
following:
- Sites that have no Webs
- Webs that have no sites
- Webs without a document root folder
- Webs without parent Webs
- Lists without a parent Web
- Lists that contain documents or items without a parent
list
You can use the following command to remove these orphaned
objects:
stsadm -o databaserepair -url
URL -databasename
DatabaseName-deletecorruption
