The ContentOrphan rule in Pre-Upgrade Checker for Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Service Pack 2 lists the names of content databases whose data is corrupted

SUMMARY

The ContentOrphan rule in Pre-Upgrade Checker for Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Service Pack 2 (SP2) lists the names of content databases whose data is corrupted.

MORE INFORMATION

After you run Pre-Upgrade Checker, this rule lists the names of content databases whose data is corrupted. This rule recommends that you use the Stsadm.exe command-line tool together with the databaserepair operation to find more detailed information about the corrupted data and to find ways to fix the data. The kinds of corruption include the following:
  • Sites that have no Webs
  • Webs that have no sites
  • Webs without a document root folder
  • Webs without parent Webs
  • Lists without a parent Web
  • Lists that contain documents or items without a parent list
You can use the following command to remove these orphaned objects:
stsadm -o databaserepair -url URL -databasename DatabaseName-deletecorruption
