INTRODUCTION

The InvalidServiceAccount rule in Pre-Upgrade Checker for Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Service Pack 2 warns you about Web applications that use invalid service accounts.

When you run Pre-Upgrade Checker, the InvalidServiceAccount rule lists the Web applications in the application pool that use NT Authority, Local System or NT Authority, or Local Service as the service account. The information is displayed in a warning message that resembles the following:

Invalid Service accounts found
Using Local system or Local services as the service accounts for Web applications are not supported. The following Web applications use such an account:
[For Each Web Application]
[Web application name]
