The ReadOnlyDatabase rule in Pre-Upgrade Checker for Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Service Pack 2 reports any databases that are set to read-only
The ReadOnlyDatabase rule in Pre-Upgrade Checker for Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 Service Pack 2 (SP2) scans the databases and then reports any databases that are set to read-only.
The output of this rule resembles the following:
The following databases are set to read only and cannot be upgraded:
[ForEach Database]
[Database Name]
The read-only state of a database must be set to
False when you try to upgrade to the next version release that supersedes Windows SharePoint Services and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007. To do this, follow these steps:
- In SQL Server Management Studio, right-click the database name, and then click Properties.
- On the Options tab, click the drop-down list on the right side of the Database Read-Only field to select False.
Note Pre-Upgrade Checker ships in Windows SharePoint Services 3.0 SP2. It is used to assess the server for potential upgrade issues when you try to upgrade to the next version release that supersedes Windows SharePoint Services and SharePoint Server 2007.

Community Feedback System
Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high
and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances
are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back.
Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what
didn't.
Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be
correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each
other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're
not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry
edits), please consult a professional.
Thank you for using kbAlertz.com Feedback System.
