After you install this update, you may receive the following error message when you run a custom application that uses a snapshot viewer control:
Microsoft Access has encountered a problem and needs to close
To work around this problem, delete the snapshot viewer control, add the control to your solution, and then rebuild your project in the development environment. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Start Microsoft Visual Studio .NET 2003 or Visual Studio 2005.
  2. Click File, point to Open Project, and then open your Windows Application project.
  3. Do one of the following:
    • In Visual Studio 2005, right click Choose Items, and then click the COM Components tab.
    • In Visual Studio .NET 2003, right-click Add/Remove Items in the Toolbox, and then click the COM Components tab.
  4. Click to select the Snapshot Viewer Control 11.0 check box if it is not already selected, and then click OK.
  5. Migrate the code and property from the old snapshot viewer control to the new snapshot viewer control.
  6. Delete the old snapshot viewer control.
  7. Rebuild the project.
If you are using a third-party solution, please contact your solution vendor for more information about how to resolve this issue.

Community Feedback System

Very often, it takes hours to solve a problem. Very often, you've looked high and low, and have tried a lot of solutions. When you finally found it, chances are, it was because someone else helped you. Here's your chance to give back. Use our community feedback tool to let others know what worked for you and what didn't.

Please also understand that the community feedback system is not warranted to be correct, it's simply a system that we've built to let people try and help each other. If something in a feedback response doesn't make sense to you, or you're not comfortable making changes that the feedback talks about (like registry edits), please consult a professional.
